Delivering beautiful gardens to boost mental wellbeing and support biodiversity through creative design and considerate implementation.
Does your garden need a revamp? I can help you transform unloved outdoor areas into a beautiful and sustainable outdoor space to be enjoyed all year round.
If you'd like to enjoy your garden rather than worry about it please get in touch.
I carry out soft landscaping (planting, edging, raised beds, etc) for my clients. I can also recommend landscaping companies to deliver the hard landscaping aspects of my designs such as patios and pathways.
Plants are my thing. I love them. I can help you inject colour, texture and year round interest into your garden with these incredible things!
A planting plan can save you lots of wasted time, money and effort - I will select plants that will thrive in the specific conditions of your garden, while also meeting your style preferences and budget. These plans come with indicative elevations to give you an idea of how your reimagined borders will look!
Having a newly transformed outdoor space often acts as a catalyst for people to get into gardening themselves. If you feel like looking after your plants and garden yourself, but aren't sure where to start, a garden coaching sesssion or two with a RHS and English Gardening School qualified horticulturist and designer will help to give you a focus and learn new skills.
I love to see how the gardens I have designed and planted are progressing. Once you have a newly designed and planted garden, you don't need to feel overwhelmed at the thought of keeping it maintained. I can come back a few times a year to carry out essential pruning, dividing and additional planting to keep it looking fresh.
Hi, I’m Johanna. I started Polkadot Wellies Gardening Services in 2014 and have been helping people in South West London and Surrey design, tend, plant and develop their gardens ever since.
Specialising in planting design and implementation, I can reinvigorate tired areas of your garden, or design your entire outside space. I always work to the mantra of horticultural icon Beth Chatto - "Right plant, right place" to ensure your garden thrives.
I also offer garden consultations which are great if you'd value advice on how your garden could be improved in terms of planting, layout or both. This gives you the benefit of my horticultural and design training, without the expense of a full design.
If you enjoy getting your boots muddy and hands dirty but would like someone to talk you through the trickier elements such as pruning, or dividing perennials, I provide garden coaching - please get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
I work with schools and community groups to improve the quality and biodiversity of their outside spaces, and set up and run garden clubs to pass the love on nurturing nature on to the next generation.
With experience of commercial, residential and community projects, I’m passionate about making the most of garden space, greening it wherever possible and helping my clients to enjoy their slice of the great outdoors.
